Do you like making gifts to women? Or just flowers seem enough?

I think it depends on the woman and also how the man expresses his love. I make sure my fiance has roses at least every other week, and when we go a few days without seeing each other due to schedules I drop a card in the mail. When I go out of town, I always bring something back that she will like. Also I will leave a little note somewhere for her to find later just saying I love her.

Do you like making gifts to women? Or just flowers seem enough?
I%26#039;ve always thought flowers were nice, but my wife really is moved when I make her something or take the time to find something really perfect for her. I%26#039;m a dolt tho, I have only made her a gift once.
Reply:I think the best gift to give is a dirty sanchez. They seem to enjoy it as much as me. Nothing says I love you quite like a dirty sanchez.

I wanna start working at home.. doing flower gifts.. but, How do I start?

I wanna start working at home.. doing flower gifts.. but, How do I start?
I don%26#039;t know what you mean by flower gifts but maybe you could sell them to a flower shop or wedding planner.
Reply:Start with your circle of friends %26amp; relatives. Maybe put together a brochure with pictures of a selections of flower gifts. Have them hand out your brochures to other people they know. You could offer a discount for a sales referral. This is a good way to judge the market %26amp; does not cost a lot of money.
Reply:You need a plan, then money, then advertising, then clients, then you can work. There is a lot more to it but I think that is the basics. Good Luck!!

Whats the best website i can get good flowers from in UK, and what other gifts can i get for the missus?
don%26#039;t order stuff online, you%26#039;re missing the point i think somewhere... you have to spend time and effort looking for something special she%26#039;ll adore. not a few clicks of a mouse...
Reply:Intaflora and floraqueen are both ok, i use them.

Chocs are great, a meal is good at home too.

If you really want to push the boat out, do something that you never do ie. iorning, washing, housework etc (im not saying you dont do these allready, but do something she wont expect)
Reply:get her jellwery we all love dimonds lol....well...we wont go to far
Reply:I have recently ordered flowers from Interflora on line. They are really good, the flowers are lovely and they always come on the day you specify. If your looking for other nice things for the wife, try http://www.figleaves.com/uk/home.asp?src...

Guys: Do you really like getting flowers or stuffed animals as gifts from your partner?

Sure its the thought that counts i would rather have a bottle of colone or something like that but a stuffed animal or flowers at lest let me know the women cares.

Guys: Do you really like getting flowers or stuffed animals as gifts from your partner?
Flowers are fine. Stuffed animals, no. A thoughtful and sincere note is the best.
Reply:NO.
Reply:I mean, it%26#039;s the thought that counts... but I%26#039;d much rather have new fishing stuff. lol
Reply:I%26#039;d be stoked if a girl gave me anything other than sneers.
Reply:No. To be really honest when I was still dating a girl I would leave what they got out on display so they didn%26#039;t feel bad about it and then when things ended they went into a drawer.
Reply:I havnt done this but i recon go for stuffed animals.... its less embarrasing walking in the street with.
Reply:I rather get flowers but it is probably because i%26#039;m older now you know . Because to be honest what would i really do with stuffed animals you know i%26#039;m going to college soon anyways and i%26#039;m not trying to bring all those stuffed animals with me .
Reply:both are cool ;and why not .
Reply:No, Unless your BF is into that sorta thing. Id say give him a night to remember.
Reply:Of course, I mean it shows you care!
Reply:Flowers yes, stuffed animals no way.
Reply:I%26#039;d rather get like a soccer jersey or just a nice kiss and hug from the one I love. I really don%26#039;t care about materialistic things. I just want to be loved as much as I love.

Funeral etiquette - flowers, gift etc, what to do?

My best friend%26#039;s, daughters%26#039; baby has passed away after 3 months of life. I%26#039;ve never been to a funeral before (amazing but true) and am not sure what to do. Should I take flowers (wreath, boquet or what) or is it better to give a gift to the baby%26#039;s mother instead. If so what kind of gift is appropriate. The baby was a little boy.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Funeral etiquette - flowers, gift etc, what to do?
You could send flowers to the funeral parlor for the wake. In an obituary, it will say if they would like flowers or some people want donations made in the deceased%26#039;s name. (like to a children%26#039;s hospital where your friends granddaughter was seen.) I would ask your friend what would be good to bring, if anything. You don%26#039;t want to make her more upset. A good bet is sending a sympathy card in advance. I%26#039;m sorry for your friend%26#039;s loss, his/her daughter%26#039;s baby will be in my prayers tonight.
Reply:I agree with musicmen. A friend of mine gave me a single white rose at my mother%26#039;s funeral (sympathy) and a single pink rose at my dad%26#039;s funeral (to show that life still goes on). Please give your friend my sincere condolences. As for what flower(s) would be appropriate for this situation, please consult a florist.

Take care.
Reply:Wow, very sorry to hear that. I would see if they have an account set up for the family. Chances are since the baby was so young, they didnt%26#039; have any insurance for him or her and funeral arrangements are not cheap. One less thing for your friends to worry about.

Flowers are beautiful, but they have to move them from the funeral home and they don%26#039;t last long.
Reply:Usually people have a flower basket or vase delivered to the funeral home handling the service...or you can make a donation in the childs name to a charity...for example Children%26#039;s Hospital. Also if the young mom is uninsured, you may want to give her some money in a sympathy card so that she can use it toward such a sad and unexpected expense. Most importantly...is to be there for your friend and her daughter
Reply:There are some good suggestions here, but please don%26#039;t forget (I%26#039;m assuming here) that the baby also has a father who will probably be just as devastated as the mother...

For myself, I would check with my friend as to what the protocol would be....flowers or a donation...she will be the one who knows how her grandchild%26#039;s parents are feeling.

I am so sorry for their loss...
Reply:Your local florist will advise you on what to send. I can%26#039;t think of any appropriate gift for the grieving mother. How terribly sad.
Reply:you could just bring flowers. bring one for the child to put on the casket. and one for the mother.

all your friend really needs is to know is that she has a good friend that will be there for her when she needs you.
Reply:Giving a donation to an appropriate charity is always appreciated. The charity usually lets the family know that you gave a gift if you can give them your friends name and address. A plant that can continue to grow is a wonderful memorial to a loved one (Hydrangeas or Azaleas are nice). It would be appropriate to give the gift to either your friend or her daughter since both are grieving. You can take it to the funeral or their house before or after.
Reply:just flowers.... and because its your best friend just make sure your there for her always and help her do anything
Reply:You can send flowers, however during a funeral their will be many people sending flowers. Give money in that persons honor as that money will help cover the cost of the funeral.

PS- Bring kleenex, you need it!
Reply:check and see with your best friend if you could send over food (be sure to verify any allergies, etc beforehand).

grieving families often have so much on their minds that they tend not to eat very well during this sad time.

you could even see if you could organize a group of people to provide dinner for the daughter %26amp; her family for a week or two.

Ladies.....When you receive gifts like chocolates or flowers or even jewellery.....?

what does each of it symbolize....expensive gift most affection? What do you think?

Ladies.....When you receive gifts like chocolates or flowers or even jewellery.....?
The important thing is not how much it costs, but that I like it. This will show that he really knows me.

My boyfriend and I are paying for our educations right now, so we don%26#039;t have the cash to give each other presents. Instead, sometimes I come home to find that he has cleaned my house for me! Or, he%26#039;ll wash my car. He%26#039;s a keeper!
Reply:No, it means the person who gave you the gift was thinking about you and wants you to feel special. Regardless of how much it costs, its always the thought that counts!
Reply:I think that flowers or chocolates symbolize the love he is giving to you. Jewelry may be expensive and very pretty but it isn%26#039;t always a sign of love. Somtimes guys buy you jewelry to win over your heart, but do they truely love you? Chocolates and flowers come from the heart. I would much rather prefer Chocolates or flowers over jewelry unless it%26#039;s a wedding band of course :D
Reply:Nope, expensive or cheap, they are only as good as the trouble and thought that went into them.

How much trouble did he go through to get the gift.

I would rather have a bouquet of grocery store flowers that he went in and picked out, than 1-800-flowers that used a phone call and credit card.
Reply:i dont think the price has anything to do with how special the gift is or how much a man likes/loves you
Reply:Let see i don%26#039;t like chocolate so if my partner got me chocolate i would symbolize that he don%26#039;t pay attention!

Flowers are GREAT i love them they cost a lot but i always enjoy flowers -- would mean much more if it came from the ground and he cut them himself.. maybe a poem too that to me is priceless and if he does that the next few days will be door closed we are not home days! if you know what i mean!

Jewerly i only want one peice that engagment ring! when the time is right of course but that means that he loves me and wants to be with me for life!

cost don%26#039;t mean much the heart does

at least for me this is what means the most@
Reply:I think I appreciate flowers most because it shows someone knows that I love flowers and sees me as feminine.

Jewelry is nice if its my taste, but there%26#039;s nothing worse than getting jewelry that isn%26#039;t my taste and is, instead, someone else%26#039;s taste.

I don%26#039;t really see chocolates as a great gift from someone who%26#039;s a boyfriend. They%26#039;re food and they%26#039;re brown, and they%26#039;re sugary. I like a good chocolate, but I don%26#039;t see them as gift material from a boyfriend. Maybe its because they seem to say, %26quot;Here%26#039;s some food. I bet you%26#039;ll love food.%26quot; or %26quot;Here%26#039;s some candy, Little Girl.%26quot;

The person%26#039;s income and the relationship are factors. If a super-wealthy person you%26#039;ve been going out with for two years gives you flowers and nothing else it sends a bad signal. On the other hand, if a super-wealthy person is always buying you jewelry there%26#039;s something less than nice or special about that too.

If you%26#039;ve only been going out with someone for a little while flowers are perfect. Jewelry would be too much and too weird and a signal that the person didn%26#039;t know what was appropriate.

In general, though, I pretty much do subscribe to %26quot;its the thought that counts%26quot;.
Reply:A gift is a gift, though i love the expensive ones more because i am a practicle person and less romantic....LOL.
Reply:i%26#039;m thrilled by the snipped flower from our yard - hand delivered - with the ant still clinging to it.

sometimes the smallest gestures are the longest lasting!

Reply:Well, I feel that expensive gifts are buying a womens affection. I go for the most thoughtful, that he%26#039;s thinking about me and not trying to trying to find an expensive gift that going to get him laid.
Reply:Ladies please. We all know that is the most PC(politiclly correct) thing to say so you feel good about yourselves, but reality beats PC anyday. Women like expensive gifts...plain and simple. They my resent you, even unconsciously, if you get something cheap.
Reply:LOL My best most sacred gift from my husband is the cheap penny ring from a vending machine! He proposed to me but lost the real ring, so he improvised with the penny ring!
Reply:I don%26#039;t consider the price to mean anything honestly. I think even a chocolate bar bought during a shopping trip indicates that he was thinking about me and cares about me...
Reply:If my hubby buys me chocolate, to me it is a sweet gesture. Usually we end up eating the chocolate together, discussing our day,etc... flowers are a nice thought to me, I use them on our dinner table to add a touch of %26quot;homey%26quot; feeling. As for jewelry, the last piece I received was for Mother%26#039;s Day this year and it was a Mother%26#039;s ring. The ring, for me, was the most precious thing I own. It has my husband%26#039;s, mine, and both children%26#039;s birthstones. The sentiment behind it means a lot to me. Cost on any of those items is irrelevant to me.

When I was just dating, if I received any of those from a boyfriend, I usually saw it as a very sweet gesture, no matter the cost.
Reply:All of them symbolise someone who does not know me: chocolates I%26#039;m allergic to, flowers give me hayfever and I never wear jewellery.
Reply:doesnt symobolize anything....because i brought it for myself.

its a cute gesture...romantic too..but things like that dont happen to me..

nice question though...ty for the points.
Reply:flowers r the best gift u can give to anyone
Reply:An expensive gift is just an expensive gift to me. It doesn%26#039;t say anything about affection. Now if the man put a lot of thought into the gift (expensive or not - or even totally free) then it shows me his affection for me.
Reply:I think any gift is meant to be a token, a gesture of their thoughts for you. The cost of the gift should not have anything to do with it. It is the thought that counts not the cost of the gift itself. God bless****
Reply:love cannot be decided on the gift you get.honesty should be given first priority.even if he picks a flower from a bush along the way you should be ablte love his poor state and accept him for who he is
Reply:No a good old hug is free and I would prefer that over chocs.

Not a flowers girl either, would prefer a glass of wine poured for me and a big bubble bath run ready.

Jewellery - is lovely and make me feel special.

the most expensive gift is not the most affection at all. its the little things that matter.
Reply:Its not really the expense of the gift that matters, its the thought behind it. If a man give a gift, just because he loves you, and cares about you, and wants to show this in some small way.
Reply:It doesn%26#039;t mean anything to me. It tells me that the guy has no idea what I like and just went with the standard, clichéd women%26#039;s gifts.
